Each year, over 100.000 tons of antibiotics are used in animal farming worldwide. This must be reduced to avoid the spread of antibiotic resistance in our society. UN and WHO predicts that antibiotic resistant diseases could cause 10 million deaths each year by 2050 and damage to the economy as catastrophic as the 2008-2009 global financial crisis.
This means that by 2050, more people will die from antibiotic resistance than from cancer. WHO recommends all countries to urgently phase out the use of antibiotics as growth promoters in agriculture.
A natural non-antibiotic substitute is therefore urgently needed to solve this challenge. One component with proven potential for improving animal health and reducing the use of antibiotics in animal farming, is the substance Capsaicin found in chili pepper.

Currently, we are performing studies to prove that the use of XP Chemistries’ capsaicin in animal feed is safe. The first stage of the major study needed to show the safety of our product is very close to the end and results so far is very promising.
